I have been involved in the evaporative air conditioning  industry for about fifteen years, with some of that time spent as State Service Manager for one of Australia's largest manufacturers of evaporative air conditioners. This type of air conditioning relies solely on water as the means of lowering the temperature and if the supply is hard water then the limescale/calcium will, in a short period of time, cause extensive damage to the air conditioner.

Over one summer period I trialed wire wind units, magnets and inline alloy units in an attempt to manage the limescale/calcium build up in clients air conditioners, unfortunately none of them performed to the standards promised.

While holidaying in the United Kingdom in 2005 I “fell over” Hydropath Holdings in Nottingham, the manufacturers of Hydroflow equipment. Having experienced less than average performance from other limescale management equipment, I was slightly sceptical that this was going to be the answer to the limescale problems in Australia. However, after researching and trialling a unit in the North West of Western Australia I was convinced that I had finally found equipment which would perform as the manufacturer claimed. Hydropath equipment is not just for evaporative air conditioning it manages limescale through the complete plumbing system, be it domestic or industrial.
